How to Fix "There Was a Problem Parsing the Package" on Cricfy TV
When you tap the Cricfy TV APK file to install it and Android immediately stops you with the error "There was a problem parsing the package", it means your phone's package installer cannot read the file.
This error only happens for four reasons. Here is how to fix each one.
1. Your APK Download Was Cut Short (Most Common)
The official Cricfy TV v7.2 APK file is approximately 18.5 MB. If your internet connection blinked while downloading, your browser might have saved an incomplete 4 MB or 11 MB file. An incomplete .apk archive cannot be opened. The Fix: Delete the partial file from your Downloads folder. Go back to our Official Download Page, download the full 18.5 MB file over a steady connection, and wait until the browser confirms the download is 100% complete before tapping it.
2. Your Device Is Running Android 4.4 or Older
Cricfy TV v7.2 requires Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or newer. If you are trying to install it on a very old budget tablet or early generation Android TV box running Android 4.4 (KitKat), the system cannot read modern APK code signatures. The Fix: Check your version under Settings > About Phone > Android Version. If your device is on early Android 5.0 and struggles with v7.2, try the v6.8 Legacy Backup APK available on our Download Page.
3. File Name Was Changed by Your Browser
If you downloaded the APK multiple times, your browser may have renamed it to something like cricfy-tv(1).apk.zip or corrupted the .apk extension. The Fix: Open your File Manager, check that the file ends strictly in .apk, and delete duplicate copies.
4. Google Play Protect or Antivirus Interrupted the Read
Sometimes Play Protect pauses the package parser mid-check on sideloaded apps. Open the Google Play Store app. Tap your profile icon in the top right > Play Protect > Settings (gear icon). Temporarily toggle off Scan apps with Play Protect, install the Cricfy TV APK, and then turn Play Protect back on. Need help with the rest of the setup? Read our Step-by-Step Installation Guide.
